Hi, guys, yet another question. I've got a GP here in Knoxville, but I'm not really crazy about him.

I used to see a pulmonologist on the gulf coast for my asthma, but haven't had to look into finding one up here. This year, my asthma is kicking me around big time. I've had a bad cough for at least 2 months now, and I need to find someone who specializes in lung disorders. At this time, I'm not looking for someone who wants all patients to go the allergy shot route (an allergist). I don't have the time to commit to those right now.

Is there a physician you could recommend? Knox County or Blount County would be fine. And they don't have to be a pulmonologist, just someone who deals alot with asthma. I'm tired of doctors who think that prednisone is the answer for all asthma problems. Prednisone makes me feel terrible, and I've already got bone loss in my spine from it. I go that route if I don't have another choice.

Thanks for any input. You are welcome to DM me if you'd rather. And I'd really love to hear who I should stay away from.

I take my son to Dr. Singer at Allergy & Asthma Affiliates. The have an office downtown and one in Maryville. I think they have some other offices too. I love him! He has my son on the lowest possible dose of medicine and he will easily answer all of my questions. He does not brush them off or anything. A friend recommended him after trying a few other docs.
The downtown number is 525-2640 and they could give you the numbers to the other offices if you want.

Thanks for the response, snapdragon.

I think I just need some regulation of my meds. It's been about 4-5 years now since a doctor has reviewed what I'm taking.

Thanks again for the response.

I second Dr. Bob- he's great. He was my asthma doc. My pulmonologist was Dr. Mejia- he is in Morristown but I think he also practices in Knoxville.
Good luck, I know your pain- a move to arid NM is what it took to get me symptom free.
