I know it's a little abnormal to request info like this on here, but my family is spending a week in a cabin in/near Gatlinburg and I want to order a keg and pick it up this Saturday. Does anyone here have any recommendations as far as prices and selection? Thanks.

I called a local package store and the worker said that Wal-Mart in Sevierville sold them. I'm not a fan of Wal-Mart, so I'll keep looking.

You can purchase kegs at various locations in and around Knoxville and also in Morristown.

Uh, where on earth did you get the idea that kegs aren't sold in the area? Jacksonian, it will depend on how particular your tastes are. Kegs will be available at grocery stores in Sevier Co., but they will most likely be limited in selection. Since you are coming from MS, you can always stop in west Knoxville or the campus area en route to the mountains if you want a microbrew or import keg. In fact, it is very possible that they will be cheaper in Knoxville, too.

Talking Kegs near Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge

You can order kegs from J & B Market, Inc 865-453-1807 or stop by at light #10 in Pigeon Forge and they can get them for you. There is a keg "route" from Miller and Budweiser that runs certain days of the week, so you will need to order ahead of time. Tap and keg deposits are required.

Considering the age of the original post, I'll just say that Food City sells them. People don't realize that. You have to call ahead though, but we bought one last year and just called a week prior. We had the tap though, so I don't know if they have them for rent or not.

There's a Food City in Gatlinburg and one at the entrance to the Spur, in Pigeon Forge.

Smoky Mountain Brewery in Pigeon Forge sells kegs. There is also a Brewery owned by the same company in Gatlinburg, however they only sell the beers they make on site.... They have some beers comparable to popular name brand beers and even allow you to taste them before purchase....

Those kegs are mini-kegs though and are not pastuerized, so you must keep them cold.
Their beer is wondeful though...I so enjoy the Helles.
