I am thinking of moving to the knoxville area. We have been trying to find information on property taxes in the area. We are looking to purchase a home that is $200,000-$250,000. I was just wondering if anyone can give me a rough estimate on what the taxes would be or a website that can help me figure it out.

Thanks so much!

This web site will give you all the information you need, and then some:

Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury - Division of Property Assessments

Each town and each county in Tennessee has its own property tax rate. There is no state property tax.

Niarb, if y'all use the search function above, you will come up with this link;

//www.city-data.com/forum/12307137-post19.html

In that post from Hik, the bottom link will give you the 2009 tax rate for each county plus towns/cities......

Oops, the server must be down....goes nowhere.....hmmmm

I even went to the homepage and tried from there, same thing....

Division of Property Assessments
