Las Cruces is a Great Town. I can't imagine why somebody would say otherwise. I lived in Massachusetts (Malden, Everett, Maynard) the first 46 years of my life, and I like it much better in Las Cruces.

Extensive research over that past few years, culminating with a visit to Las Cruces in July, has convinced us that this is the place to leave my green and heavily taxed, pc correct, pleasant land for (UK)
The only thing we are going to miss is our national health service.

PS any one willing to provide employment/opportunity for hard working educated (reasonably) 40 something year old?

Seb, I'm your age and I'd trade places with you in a moment! There's nowhere I'd rather be than the UK.

California is a BIG state. Somewhere in it you'll find something close to it.

A great site to check out is View Las Cruces New Mexico, 360 Tours, Las Cruces Panoramas and Las Cruces photos and pictures - HIGH DEFINITION LAS CRUCES that site has all sorts of 360 tours of our city and gives a nice view of what our town is like.
Very very impressed with the 360 degree views of the different scenery ''View Lascruces''. Some very good pictures and all as i'm keeping this site as a favorate.

That is a nice site. I have to disagree that Cruces is like California...far from it...which is a good thing.

Cruces can be compared with Tucson but without all the crime/traffic problems they have.

Las Cruces has a good rep as the uncrowded alternative to the typcially overbuilt, overpriced southwest scene. But we Americans love to love our towns to death. Stay tuned - "build it and they will come."

As far as crime, no way. It was actually rated recently as one of the most "secure" towns in the US, whatever that means. If you're looking for gangs, I would recommend N. Virginia with MS-13. Or Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, etc.

Well I've been here 4 years and haven't had any problems with crime at all.
