I've had an old truck listed on Craigslist for 4 months now. Two times I've lowered the price (to significantly lower than NADA) and the only response I've had was one scammer and one guy who wanted to trade.

Other options I can think of are the Sun-News, Thrifty Nickle and parking it somewhere highly visible.

What have you folks that have sold a vehicle yourselves had the most luck with?

I sold my truck on Craigslist after a couple weeks. I had a decent amount of interest, several lowball offers via email. I ended up getting about book value for it. I considered listing on Autotrader or cars.com

Maybe you're not marketing it well. Make sure you have lots of pictures and information about the vehicle, including NADA or KBB value. Be accurate in your description. When I was looking for a vehicle on craigslist, one said it was in "excellent" condition then when I went to look at it there were dents all up the hood and roof.

Parking it somewhere is definitely an option, especially if it's a place where buyers of that particular vehicle will congregate. I used to see an ugly green pickup for sale outside Lowe's. The only person I could imaging wanting it would be a landscaper or something.

I used autotrader.com here in ABQ with success (and a lot of weird phone calls).

You saw my Maybel? A '53 Chevy "5 Window" PU... It was so ugly I had to hide it because everybody thought I would sell it cheap...

Haha no, it was mostly ugly due to the shade of green.

Loews would be perfect, I'll have to check with them to see what is involved in parking a vehicle in their lot. Good idea, thanks!

I'm not certain the owner had Lowe's permission to park there. They may have moved the vehicle overnight.
