What TigerLily said. You may also find "healthful" goodies at the downtown farmer's market now & then and it's right outside Las Cruces' largest used book store.

There was a restaurant called The Planet that closed last year, but I've heard they will be reopening downtown sometime soon. They had veggie/vegan foods and smoothies and such.

That is great! thanks for the info, we were down on Saturday and put a deposit down on a place on Roadrunner. As much as I enjoy living here in the mountains, I also love the desert landscape too. I hope the vegetarian restaurant is open, that would be great!! looking to go to the farmers market as well.

You know every time I start thinking that moving to Las Cruces might not be the right decision I come across posts from folks like you guys that reassure me that I will fit in, sort of ;P I hope the Vegetarian place is open by the time I get there (late June early July) Here in North Dakota a friend of mine enrolled her kids in school and told them they were vegetarians, they thought it was some sort of religion.

Well I do not know what kind of folks you are looking for ....I like to eat like a vegetarian, but am not a liberal or a tree hugger, gay or an animal activist, Very conservative vote independently.Served in the military, enjoy mopars, rockabilly, hiking fishing, and hunting,( not opposed to others enjoying carne) have strong family values,Have a very large family, love greenchile, red chile, and can cook just about everything, from japenese to thai..But cook mostly New Mexican. oh and dont forget your sunglasses and sunscreen.
