By "black" hair - do you mean "African-American"? If so - wow - why don't you keep the hair you've got!! Or put it in those gorgeous "corn rows"!! Reason: I have exceptionally thick, DEAD straight, "white", as in "European American" hair........but I've lived in Africa..........I think African hair is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cool. If you've got it - don't cut it! Work with it! Trust me - "white" hair, especially the real straight kind (can't be curled with a TON of perming solution) is a real drag!!
Either way, junior member, good luck!!
There's a place on Solano near Idaho, I don't know the name of the place but it has like murals or spraypaint or something on the side. Go see Patty, she can do it.
My wife has had fair to middling luck w/ this one. She's tried the MalWart near the mall, Supercuts and that beauty academy (think it's on Missouri). The school did the best job and the prices are great, but it's a lottery as to who you'll get to cut it. We miss our hair cutter in Hawaii who was a real pro. She never had any black customers other than my wife and she took the time to figure out how to cut it properly. The gossip was fun too! A good hair cutter can cut any sort of hair. It's just a process of elimination until you find yours.
My son likes Milo's Barbershop. There are a few around the city.
