I am trying to wrap my brain around the ideas in this thread. Last summer in mid-coast Maine it rained so much that our house had mildew issues. We had to throw away a lot of stuff we kept in the garage -- everything was ruined from the moisture.

UH, Monsoon starting early? In Arizona, there's a superstition about this. If the monsoon starts early (like it seems to have - this May)........the monsoon season will NOT be robust. It will be a lousy year for monsoon rains. IT may be a superstition, but after 14 years, I"ve found it to hold pretty much true...........Hope it's not the same for New Mexico? Anyone else heard about this ole wives tale??

Haven't heard that one plantnut. We're getting cooler weather with rain showers in Grand Junction as well. Usually at this time of the year the temps are pushing 90 with NO rain. The highs are only supposed to be 75 for Memorial day weekend. I have lived here since '93 and have NEVER seen it this cool. I'll take it, though!

hmmmmmmmmmmm. Colorado. I'd take the cools here in Az, too - but looks like we ain't got em. My husband told me the monsoon didn't start early - that was just a freak storm in May, so I guess i was wrong....
