If you live in an apartment, the swamper should replace all your hot air in a couple of minutes.
Leave it off when you are gone and turn it on when you get home.
NOT running the cooler 24/7 like an air conditioner is one of the ways you save money with a swamper.
Well, it's really hard for me to sleep when it's over 75 degrees at night. I had it off this morning until 11:00, and it's still 76 degrees in the bedroom. Today wasn't even a hot day, and it's usually 74.9 by the time I go to bed, if it's been running all day.
And, yeah, I'm home all day. Blame the recession. I've applied to hundreds of jobs and can't find work in my field.
We hit our highest electric bill of the year at $212 last month.
I want to know what to expect in the next month or two. More?
What has been your highest bill or what was your bill last month?
Thanks!
My 06/02-07/01 bill was $70.95 for 560 actual KWH for a 2100 sq ft house with 5 people living in it, El Paso. Lights on because everyone stays up late, computers, televisions, electric dryer.
My summer electric bills in Midland typically ran $275-325 with an older refrigerated air system. When I replaced the entire 27-year-old system they dropped to about $175-225. It was total electric, but my natural gas bill this month was only $15, so that still brought my total to just $129--far better than it ever was in Midland.
As hot as it has been, I will pay for refrigerated air, regardless.
I hate summer! I can't wait for October. The bills are miniscule the rest of the year.
$325 for a 3,410 sq ft house with pella windows and lots of insulation. One person, refrig air set at 79, a pool 1 horse pump, and an irrigation pump. Also includes a 600 sq ft rental house with swamp cooler. (i suspect it is all that computer time!)
I live in Virginia and will be moving out to Las Cruces in June 2010. I pay about $155 every two months for water and about $160 a month for electric. What's the average in Las Cruces?
