Is anybody familiar with the Telshor apartments in Las Cruces which is loacted at 999 S. Telshor. If anybody is familiar with the apartment complex how would you rate it? Is it a nice complex or one to beware of? I know they have section 8 or h there so worrying if there would be any gang problems or anything like that there? They have really good rents though but it's an older building. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

To be completely honest with you, from an outside perspective, that is to say, driving past it on Telshor Blvd, it looks very, very questionable. Very rundown looking, if you ask me. If you have a child, it does put you in the Hillrise Elementary School district, which is one of the best-rated in LC.

It's in an OK area of town, I wouldn't worry too much about gang members there.

Most of Las Cruces takes Section 8, the govt wanted to take away the stigma of "housing projects" and came-up with a voucher system that pays partial rent. Section 8 is located in every part of Las Cruces, including RoadRunner Parkway and High Range districts, provided the person can pay what the voucher does not. So you can get members in practically every apt community in town because the govt felt that a child was more likely to succeed if blended into community of hard working people

Well, my aunt lives at the apartments at 1605 S. Telshor (just a little further south), and it seems like a nice area. I think that it's the same area anyways.
