Just got approved to lease a house in Seven Hills almost next door to Wolff Elementary in a gated community called The Terraces. I am so happy as it is perfect for my wife, son and I. I go back for the Monday the 28th and will be moving in on the 1st of July. So grateful for everything going on in my life. Any body have any recommendations for buying a used car?

Car Max is no different than Drive Time, in other words a total ripoff. Pay cash and buy from a private party.

I do not agree about CarMax being a ripoff to buy a car.

If you want to buy a specific auto, and you have researched it's market value,
you will find CarMax will sell it for less than Kelly Blue Book. Considering they
inspect and stand behind their vehicles mechanically, that's a plus over private
sales.
However, if you wanted to trade a car, they will rip your eyeballs out and lowball
your trade. So never trade your vehicle to them.

Your mileage may vary.

My only experience with CarMax was as a seller and was generally positive. When I was moving to a different part of the country in 2004, I tried to sell my car on my own and was hoping to get $9,000. There was interest but no firm offer. I finally took it to CarMax, which offered me $7,700 - not quite what I was hoping for but, all things considered, an acceptable number, as I was leaving in less than a week. The process was smooth and painless, and I had my money quickly.

I've had two friends who have bought cars from CarMax, and both were enthusiastic about the experience. Both thought they paid a very fair price. I consider this a very reputable company.

And congratulations to George on his move to Seven Hills, a gorgeous neighborhood.

A worker at the client where I am situated at told me I should go check them out. The cars may be in good shape, but they are WAY overpriced. A 2000 V6 Mustang for $10,000?? A 2003 Impala for $10,000?? C'mon now. Give me a freaking break. I could find these cars for half that or less.

2003 Chevrolet Impala in Las Vegas, NV- 6707397 at carmax.com
Back in 2009 when I was car shopping, I had found a 2004 Nissan Altima v6, for $16,000 at carmax I walked right out

But think about it like this, you get what you are paying for, so if CarMax cars are THAT expensive, they must be in tip top shape. I bought my Altima for $7800, and it was a piece of garbage when I got it, its all fixed now, but you see my point, its always good to buy at a reputable dealer, then from some redneck off the side of the road like what I did I was just lucky it worked out well for me
