My wife and I are an interracial couple with two biracial children. We are looking for a church near the Summerlin area that has a congregation that is diverse with different races and is accepting of all. Both of us did not grow up with religion in our homes, so we would probably prefer a nondenominational church or baptist. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Not sure where you are at in Summerlin, but the International Church of Las Vegas, International Church of Las Vegas - Home (http://www.iclv.com/content/blogsection/12/385/ - broken link) seems to be what you are looking for. I am not a regular churchgoer, but I have attended services here a couple of times and the people seem very open and friendly.

It was pretty diverse. I honestly didn't take much notice of it, but I remember seeing whites, blacks, asians, hispanic. Can't tell you the ratio though.

Thier website states:
We are a multicultural church...
  • Without racial, national, cultural, or color barriers
  • With a congregation made up of people from over 26 nations
  • With services in English, Spanish and other languages
I have always felt Las Vegas as a whole is very accepting of different races and nationalities, just because we are so tourism focused.

I have heard many good things about Central Christian Church. I have also been there a few times, to the Henderson location. I went to a friends wedding, plus went to a memorial service for another.

Las Vegas is nothing but diverse and so goes their churches. The only single common denominator is "money" Bring it & ye shall be welcome. Some even except casino chips. Not being sarcastic, have just gone the route.

Not to open a can of worms but why would you want to subject yourself and your kids to the hostile environment of organized religion? All you are gonna hear from those jackals is that your marriage is a sin and then they will read you some Bible passages from the Old testament like Leviticus 19:19 and Genesis 28:1. There are better more enjoyable ways to spend Sundays.

Do any of them have slot machines? I know when I was growing up the churches played Bingo which is gambling and then they would say regular gambling was a dirty sin.
They can overlook sin when it benefits them. Maybe a few slot machines with a "Take A Gamble On Jesus" theme!
