The Dolce Hotels has named the former Ritz property Ravella @ Lake Las Vegas. The Grand opening is now scheduled for February 11, 2011 from the previous date of February 4, 2011. Much of the hotel will remain the same. What has changed is the lobby area which will be more user friendly and less formal than the Ritz.
There are still plenty of jobs on the www.dolce.com website and I understand they are still hiring and interviewing for those positions.
It is also my understanding that the casino should re-open by April 2011. An issue they now have to face is that 70 day moratorium for Clark County issuing new liquor licenses. Casino Montelago had a liquor license, but it expired when they closed. So, a new one has to be obtained. I spoke with the commerical realtor for Lake Las Vegas and she advised that several new and exciting tenants will be filling the village shops about the same time the hotel opens.
The Ravella name is derived from Ravello, a town in Italy, which means to "revel". I spoke to the acting GM of Dolce Ravella late last night. I was inspired just speaking to him about his and Dolce's excitment about Lake Las Vegas and their positive impact on not only Lake Las Vegas, but the entire valley. I thought to myself.. what a perfect name for the hotel as revel means to make merry, to take much pleasure, delight and celebrate.. this exactly what Dolce Ravella is doing for the community.
One thing that Dolce is doing that is going to be very positive for the community is they have partnered with the village restaurants so that Ravella guests can charge their meals to their room. This is going to be fantastic for revenue for the village. Again, this just goes to show Dolce's committment to the village and community.
I plan on celebrating Dolce Ravella's arrive on the grand opening weekend and I hope that everyone else will join me as well! They are offering a locals discount of 25% off the rooms, which is mentioned in their press release.
I will attached the actual press release from Dolce in a separate post. I have read much of the media's articles this morning and while they are positive, they didn't capture the essense of Dolce's opening.
