I think this is best news ever. Not sure if everyone has heard, the Casamar Market has left the village. While I feel bad that the owners didn't do well, that was such an under utilized space.

If you think about it, there are no nice grocery stores for miles, this includes the subdivisions of Calico Ridge and Tuscany. The former Casamar Market could have captured that grocery market by offering typical grocery products instead of expensive Viking cookware and $13.00 rolls of hand wrapped toilet paper. As the closest grocery store is the Albertsons (eww) if properly marketed and priced, this store will do well.

What I just found out today, the former Casamar Market is actually 4,000 square feet. They weren't using about 2,000 of the square footage.

The plans are a full-service grocery store with meats, cheese, breads etc with typical prices. The owner is wanting to do Saturday Farmer's Market where they will roll open the doors and spill the store out into the village.

The owner is planning on opening within 60 days. Julie, the Commercial Realtor is doing an awesome job getting all of these new tenants into the village. This should open around the same time as the casino.

What an exciting day to hear about this!!!!! I'll keep you posted as I hear updated information.

That is really great that they are adding a full service store to Lake Las Vegas at last. Plus the Farmers Market will be quite a draw. I always wonder how people handle living in area's with no grocery store close by when you need a few things.

Yes...but you need more than one store...otherwise they can charge whatever they want. Take it...or leave it.

I am told they will be competitively priced, as if they are not, people will make the drive elsewhere.

It's a store that is stocked to meet all of a shopper's grocery/household item needs.

Some prefer to shop at a few different places, taking advantage of sales. Not all stores stock "everything"---there are simply too many products for one store to manage this, and remain a reasonable size. So people go to a few different stores to get the specific items they want.

But there are still plenty of people who just want one-stop grocery shopping. This store should work for that, although sounds like it will have a smaller footprint than one of the big chains. Smaller isn't necessarily bad as long as it has what people need. It takes a lot less time to shop a smaller store, than slog through a large one. (Yes---I'm partial to smaller stores.)

Yeah I've never heard of a "full service" grocery store, and also 4,000 sq. feet? That is tiny!

We have basically the best Ralph's imaginable right next to us, a Fresh Fare with a sushi bar, amazing deli, all kinds of fresh food and everything else, the thing is probably like 50-100,000 square feet who even knows. I've never seen a grocery store that is so small as 4,000 sq. feet, haha, I don't think I'd go there.

And if it's not one stop shopping I wouldn't go there either. Who has the patience to go to a bunch of places to get what you want?! This is America!

I never said Lake Las Vegas was getting "super/mega store". Trader Joes stores can be as small as 2,000 square feet and up to 10,000 square feet. Lake Las Vegas doesn't need a 100k square foot store. But, what the residents/guests want is a grocery store that has meats, breads, produce etc and not have to drive all the way into at least Boulder Highway to go to not so nice Albertsons/ Walmart. The operator already has a presence in the Las Vegas area and will make this a great store! Well, if you lived next door to a Ralph's, you probably wouldn't need to drive all the way to LLV to shop. However, does Ralph's have a weekend Farmer's Market adjacent to a lake in a beautiful setting?

Wonderful news. That Julie is a go-getter and obviously understands the potential for this unique area. I hope the Village and Development advertises this to nearby areas so it can succeed.

Awesome news yet again LLV-Resident. I believe there is also a Smith's planned near the CVS/Sonic Drive-Thru.

What I would really like is to have a pizza place which is willing to deliver to LLV. I have had the most interesting experiences with pizza deliveries/ requests for deliveries since I moved out here. ("Sorry, our female driver nearly got raped"), ("You are clear out to laughlin"), and one of my favorite quotes of all time: ("You mean to tell me that you would be willing to pay extra for PIZZA???" --- Shocking revelation to a Domino's Store Manager, we live in a capitalist country! I told him I would pay his driver appropriately since it was out of their way.) There is something innately wrong with not being able to order a pizza!
