What a nightmare going from the airport and using the 15 going north toward the Golden Nugget Casino at about 4pm. We were stopped for a long time traffic was really bad. Can someone please tell me how the 515 going northbound from Galleria is about 530 pm on a friday? Is the traffic really bad normally like I saw yesterday when I was on the 15 going north? Ty

I wouldn't get on the highway here if my life depended on it.

It CAN be pretty bad. If it looks backed up you can exit and take Boulder Hwy. I do this all the time. Boulder Hwy has lots of lights but the traffic moves.

Is going north out of airport all the way up Paradise that bad? If so, take Maryland Pky. You can turn right onto Russell and left on Maryland and take it all the way to Fremont or wherever else you want to cut over. Going US95 seems way out of the way and it is bumper to bumper as you get towards downtown.

Usually 95/515 northbound gets busy near Charleston/Eastern and again at the 15 interchange (spaghetti bowl).

I find using "Waze" phone app has the best real time traffic speeds/accidents/etc

I concur. Although I know where I'm going, the Waze app is ALWAYS on when I'm driving. It has taken me some really strange routes (for instance, last night after I set up a job at SpringHill Suites on Paradise, it took me DI West to Valley View to the 15 instead of through the airport like normal, or DI East to my office).

It is also the app that re-routed me around Cajon Pass during nightmare traffic, saving me a great deal of time.

Take Maryland to Bonneville and sneak into downtown. I wouldn't get on any highway at 5/6pm Friday unless you paid me.

The 15 in my opinion is undoubtedly the worst highway here for a variety of reasons. I try to avoid it whenever possible. When I do travel on it, it's usually because it's not rush hour and because an alternate route would likely still take longer.

Traffic is always Tesla to Tesla between 7:30am and 9:00am, and 4:30pm and 6:00pm. Otherwise it's not bad. It does pick up a little in the afternoons between 2 and 3 because, after all, we are a blue color, three shift town.

Unless I was on my way home and it didn't matter, I stuck to surface streets to get to work until I retarred. Of course it's a wonder I survived road rage; but, I only got three or four tickets.
