Just got back from a nice weekend trip to Cactus Springs. It's everything they say it is.

Uh, I assume you aren't talking about the wide spot in the road about a mile north of Indian Springs. There might be one home still there, but not sure it's occupied.

We counted two homes (seriously). Occupied status unknown.

The dogs had a nice run in the desert near there today, though.

As you go through CS look to your left; I believe there's an area that has several structures with one looking like the main house. At one time it was rumored to be a coven of Wiccans.

Wikipedia mentions a "temple" of some sort. Looks like something we drove by today.

I'd be more worried about Airmen with assault weapons. That's very close to the Predators, and I don't mean mountain lions.

Hey, we were passing through there last night on the way home, and I noticed either right before there, or right after Indian Springs, there is a dirt road that you can see running all the way up into the mountains. There is a Forest Service sign that said something like Forest Access. Anybody ever take that road before? If so, is it a good road, and where does it go to?

There's one called Old Benn Road in that area that leads out of IS. I have a ton of maps (love 'em). This one shows some of the spots we've talked about before and you can see that some probably lead into IS. Mostly BLM I'm sure and a good place to shoot along the way most likely. Mack's is BLM btw although you pass through some FS getting there.
