I used to work for them when I lived in San Francisco. I had several interviews - at that time they required you to interview with all the managers (that store had 3) on one-on-ones.

As long as you're positive about the product and have a good personality, you'll be fine.

What position are you interviewing for? If you are trying to become a genius then you will definitely need to know your stuff to get the job. If not, they probably will be interested in your general knowledge, but more interested in your sales or management experience (depending what you are applying for).

I interviewed for the general store manager position a few years ago. I had two phone interviews. The phone interviews were standard situational interview questions. At the time I was rapidly advancing with another company but exploring other options just to keep a pulse on what was out there.

My third interview was with a store manager. He tried to pitch me their equivalent of an assistant manager position (reports to the general manager) with the ability to "rapidly advance" to a be general store manager...that is when a store manager position finally opened up (aka probably not very rapidly). They didn't have a manager job open within of state of me, but they were trying to build a talent bench.

I didn't see enough opportunity for advancement based on where I was at and the position capped out at less than I currently made, so I passed. Overall the store I interviewed in seemed like it was a positive team atmosphere, plus the hours are cushy compared to anything else retail.

Good luck!

Put on your best Steve Jobs costume (think turtleneck and sneakers.) Now...more than ever...everyone needs some kind of gimmick.
