How do you handle the month to month bills on a house/condo I know some of the bills can be emailed but what about the others and how do you pay them. Is the mail forwarded, do you have to set up a account at a US bank to pay bills on-line
Thanks

I'm Canadian and I pay majority of my monthlies online.

Set up a savings account with an American bank, then register your bills for online banking. You should be able to do this with most I believe.

The ones you can't, either prepay a few months in advance (that's what I first did with cox), or have someone you can trust pick up / check your mail for you on a semi regular basis.

Then, the important stuff, like property tax, etc. they can forward to you.

Good luck

RM

I do what my Canuck friends do - pay everything through online banking. In fact, I've got auto payments on my LV property (even HOA fees) except for tax payments - which I pay once a year just to keep it simple.

The best thing I did after buying LV property was to ensure ALL mailings come to my home in Salt Lake City. I made sure the utilities, taxes, etc., have my SLC address. As a result, all I get at my LV address is junk mail - which I toss when I'm in town every two months.

I was thinking of doing the same thing.

Just want to find a way to secure the place and set it up where it can be left that way without problems.
