Hi All,

So I know it is REALLY early but just seeing what is out there. Some friends and I were thinking abotu Vegas for New Years this year. I know all the places have tickets but has anyone ever tried it? I know the clubs can be difficult to get into normally and was wondering if when it is a big night with tickets if it is still difficlut even if you have a ticket. Any advice would be great.

Thanks!

You may be a little late. If we are going out on New Years we usually set it up a year in advance. And we don't always get what we want either.

The casinos where we have comps usually have lotteries for rooms.

Staying at a hotel off the strip might increase your chances of getting a room.

You got it right. While rooms will range from $700-$1000/night, the MGM Mirage: MGM MIRAGE

Well I actually was doing some research and found a bunch of places on the strip for like 400 a night so in terms of hotel I think we will be ok. I was thinking more in terms of somewhere to go at night. I don't think it is too early because I was looking and all the clubs haven't even released tickets for the NYE parties yet. I guess my concern is that if we buy tickets to a party will we have any trouble getting in do you think? Or do you have any good reccomendations for places to go out to on NYE? I have been there quite a few times and have hit a lot of the places to go out and I know some can be impossible to get in and some easier, wondering if it is the same on NYE.
Thanks for all your feedback everyone!

On NYE, the hotels all put up chain-link fences, and you won't even get on a property unless you show a room key. I would say your best bet is to pick a hotel you are comfortable with, and stay on property. If you are a hotel guest you should have no problem gaining entrance to a club or party there. But, don't stay at Circus Circus, and expect to get into Tao.

I hate having to agree with Sheriff.....just goes against my grain. But he's right.

If you stay downtown in a hotel on The Fremont Street Experience you have access to all of the hotels plus the Fremont Street Show.

He is only partially right. If you don't look too scrungy you can get into every property. They will take a key or wrist band from wherever. Mostly being over 40 is good enough.

They do cut off people. But only if you seem unsuitable...

You're PARTIALLY right Capt....You have to buy admission to FSE on NY's eve and that will give you a wrist band [hotel key won't do it] letting you on and off of Fremont St thru ANY hotel or entrance gate.

They haven't released the lineup for this year but there will be 5 bands playing [Huey Lewis HAS been confirmed as one of them]
