SOME of us are gettin' smahtah!

TOP REASONS TO RETIRE IN LAS VEGAS:
Warm, with 300+ days of sun (good for arthritis, no snow)
VERY low housing prices (biggest expense)
Best entertainment in the country (much of it actually free)
Low cost of living (cheap food/buffets, cheap gas, no parking fees)
No State income tax (this alone will attract many)
Close to many attractions (Grand Canyon, Bryce, Lake Mead, Mt. Charlston, L.A. only 4 hours by car, etc.)
Henderson just rated 2nd safest city in the country (Big consideration for retirees looking to live a quiet, carefree life)

It makes perfect sense that baby boomers from all over the country will choose Las Vegas for retirement.

Now all we need to do is to make the medical system here 2nd to none.
(oh yeah and a real professional sports team... NBA? NHL? NFL?)
Shhhh. You want us to have another invasion?

Yeah, but you forget about Vegas drivers who think that because they drive a high power car that they are the King of the road. Some of the drivers here suck big time!

Sometimes I wonder if even half the drivers actually have licenses. I live right by a 4 way stop sign and it's constant confusion and people running right through it.

Well, yeah. This kinda gets a "duh" response from me, since my wife and I just went through this analysis a year ago and all of those reasons are why we decided to move to Vegas (from the Northeast). We are self-employed and can work from anywhere; in that context (which is similar to that of retirees), Vegas quickly hits the top of the list of attractive places to move to. As long as housing prices are low (which they likely will be for several more years), people in such a position are going to be strongly attracted to Vegas.

Panhandlers making $180 a day on the Strip, the unemployed creating a unique, money-making street act on the Strip for the tourists, that'll keep em' comin'!

Beats working like a slave and paying taxes!

How about New Englanders, a re-enactment of the burning of a witch on the Strip! Right in front of the Bellagio! Then throw the witch into the Lake, sizzle-sizzle-sizzle!

You got the biggest Las Vegas cheerleader right here in me; I personally don't understand why people would want to live anywhere else, lol.

But you've got to remember that Nevada has North Las Vegas and Henderson and many small towns upstate that are attractive to the Northern California-Oregon-Washington State folk, such as Minden, Gardenerville, Winnemucca and the Reno-Tahoe area. People from snowy climates are used to snow so for some, it doesn't bother them, and many of them like it if they decided they don't want to escape it. You also got Laughlin and Boulder City, which many people find atrractive to as well.

I am happy that folks are still finding Las Vegas and the State of Nevada an attractive place to live, it truly does have something for everyone!

Here we grow again!
