i heard nevada legalized in-state online poker for people who are in the state.

does anyone know if there are many players, and what the most popular sites would be?

thanks.

The only one we have really is the Zen network, they do Southpoint Poker and a few others, software is not very good and is not set up for real money yet. I have a online sports betting account with Station Casinos and from what I understand the poker sites will work about the same way. You would go to the poker room to deposit and withdraw money, one thing that is going to limit the players, I'm sure everyone will have to have Cox as there internet provider so they can prove that you are in the state when you are playing at least that's how the sports betting site works. They have to have a way to prove you are in the state while you are on there site playing and Cox internet has a way of doing that somehow.

Sort of. I won't get into detail, but if you're technically savvy, and you have someone local to work with, you can get around that.

Station Sports Connection is set up this way but the guidelines for poker do not really call for it. I hope it does not go that route because it would be a pain to play poker but not be able to surf the web at the same time.

The way Sports Connection is set up I do not know how you can work around it. The computer cannot be on the internet at the same time it is logged into Sports Connection. It is a separate intranet type network specific to Cox. You could not remotely log in to the computer and into Sports Connection at the same time because as soon as it connects to Sports Connection, your remote connection would be dropped because the computer in Nevada would no longer be on the internet. Maybe there is some creative way to work around that, but remote log ins and VPN will not work there.

All of this is why I think it will be the same way, the gambling commission is going to want a fail safe way of proving that all the players are in the state while playing online. The Sports Connection set up is already approved and works, so I think we will see the same type of set up for online poker. Even though it is a hassle signing in and out of the software, it is a lot more of a hassle for me to drive back and forth to the sports book to place my bets and collect.
