Here are the plans for the Great Mall of Las Vegas. Will open in 2009. The Mall will also have an outside component like District in GV. Includes Regal Movies and enclosed park. This should really make the Centenial Hills area of Vegas the place to be.

Right, you'll just love the increase in traffic.

I hope that Triple Five does a better job in leasing out the space than they have done in Boca Park. Not impressive.

Actually I would think both Centennial Town and Centennial Hills will be relatively free of the resulting traffic.

If there is any local impact it will be on Durango south of 215. All those folk from northern Summerlin.

Once again, you have to wait till 2009 for it to be finished, that's if the building has started or if it will even open on schedule or even open at all, given Triple Five's Track Record...

Town Square is only 2 months away from opening and is already impressive enough...

Default The Great Mall of Las Vegas is GONE.

The Great Mall of Las Vegas will NOT be built. In it's place will be a large outdoor shopping center. Was the mall a fatality of the housing and mortgage downturn? PROBABLY

Intriguing...where did you get that from? I like it as it sounds rational...but this is Las Vegas. So a source. Nothing in the local press as far as I can find.

Assuming you mean N. Durango and 215? *scratches head* This is scheduled for the NW part of town, right? (Or am I getting my internal road map confused?)

Yeah...this all takes place at the intersection of 95 and 215 and Durango...the triple exists only in the NW.

Default No Great Mall Of Las Vegas- Source

The source for this posting is the monthly newsletter from Congressman Gary Ross. Here is the quote: NEW DEVELOPMENTS - GREAT MALL

The Great Mall of Las Vegas is still moving forward. It will be
located just north of Deer Springs Way and west of U.S. 95.
This is directly east of the hospital. Triple Five Development
will be announcing new changes to the much anticipated current
Mall of America Plan. Triple Five will be presenting these new
plans next month to the City Council and residents of
Centennial Hills sharing the great design features and
enhancements of the New Mall of America. The plans will
convert the traditional enclosed mall to a great outdoor
?lifestyle? experience. This is in response to many comments
by tenants and residents alike. As part of the new plans the
developer plans to reduce the intensity of the project
slightly from 1.5 million square feet to approximately 1
million square feet. The idea is that the modern shopper wants
to leave the confines of the indoor environment and get back
to the natural outdoors, similar to ?the District? in Green
Valley. When builders design the town square environment and
include public spaces such as parks, water play area for
children and the corner coffee shop it will create an urban
environment where everyone feels at home. Triple Five
Development is working to better accomplish this goal by
taking the roof off the old traditional mall. Another
advantage to the outdoor environment is it give the developer
the opportunity to become more responsible stewards of the
environment by reducing power consumption and adding green
elements such as solar power and LED lighting where possible.
This will also allow the mall to move ahead faster so we can
hopefully see some new shops open in 2009. Triple Five will be
sending out a press release this week with more details.
