Does anyone prefer a Harrahs location (i.e. Flamingo, Harrahs, Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, Rio, Bally's, Paris, etc) or do you prefer an MGM establishment, (MGM, Treasure Island, Mirage, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, New York-New York, Luxor, Circus Circus, etc). For what reason? I'm not an expert in these things, but I know there is a lot to know, especially for gamblers concerned about acquiring points.

You will get better offers from Caesars (Harrahs) than MGM, but the gambling at Caesars properties is much worse. For example, all Caesars properties have 6/5 blackjack in some form, many even out of shows. Few MGM do, but there are only a small handful outside of party pits and single decks. MGM also has stand on all 17s at 3 of their casinos on the regular floor with decent minimums, Caesars only has that in high limits.

If you are looking for better gambling, MGM is the way to go. If you prefer comps, Caesars is the way to go. Don't completely dismiss the smaller properties either. For example, Tropicana is completely remodeled, and within walking distance of 6 MGMs.

This. ^^^ Caesars is so sneaky - they rope you in with comps and you can't break the habit. I always have much better luck at MGM properties but they never send me any GOOD comps (I don't consider $139.00/night at Aria a good comp).....but Caesars is still sending me three comp nights every month even though I have not gambled more than $100.00 there in the past 18 months.

I've been to that property and they would have to pay ME $139 per night to fight the traffic. It's a nice place, but really... $139 a night for a local??

I am a slot player and prefer the Harrahs locations even though I still wish most of them were Hiltons like in years past. I have always liked to pull the handles at Flamingo and Bally's. Hubby plays craps some (but not as much as he used to, it has gottern too pricey) he likes the really small casinos or downtown for craps and Ballys for the horse races which is he game of choice. This time we will be way south so will probably consentrate more on So Point and M resort.

I pretty much agree with everyone above, I been gambling a lot at MGM (think: Lion's share)
But the comps are pretty stingy.

Harrah's does offer better comps and rooms, but even they have become stingy

I used to win a lot more at Harrah's property, now it seems they have tightened up there slots.

Speaking of thiight machines, does anyone have an idea where they seem to be the loosest or at least a little loose. I know, those casinos and hotels were not built on our winning, but just to find a way to lose the money a little slower would be nice.

Do you mean actually slot machines or video poker? If it is slot machines, Las Vegas Club and El Cortez seem to score the highest. Both are downtown. The best video poker can be found at local's casinos.

either one, I mostly play nickel and penny slots, but I love video poker. In fact I have only hit a royal one time and it was years ago at El Cortez. Unfortunately it was with wild cards and paid almost nothing, but it was fun>>>>

Station Casinos have many 100% payback video poker machines. Downtown, there are several old coin play machines that pay back 100% in Fitz and Vegas Club.
