I can't tell you how much I hate bugs. I had a home inspection done last week and saw a couple of bugs while I was there. One inside the property and one outside. The tenant is a vegan so refuses to have the property sprayed. As soon as I get the keys to the property, I am getting it sprayed!! Just thinking about the bugs freaks me out, so I would like to know which company you use and how often do they come out to spray? I have heard every other month or every 3 months for maintenance, but would prefer every 3 months.

Also, the backyard is all dirt and I am planning to put concrete there instead, so that should help.

There is a member on this forum by the name of Wendy that is highly recommended by everyone. I only do not use her as my apartment does it for free, otherwise I would. Contact her here:

A vote for no exterminators. Spraying poison willy-nilly cannot be good for the environment. And it's not good for our pets. So we don't do it.

We use Chinese roach traps. Here's a picture:

A few drops of beer on a small piece of folded paper towel is all the bait necessary. We catch a few a week this way. It's free. Nobody is in our house, spraying poison. And we're relatively bug-free inside. (Plenty of bugs outside. But that's how it should be.) We don't spray outside because we grow food in the back yard.

I imagine there will be a lot of "no way in hell" replies from the squeamish. But it works for us.
