My wife was born and raised in Houston, but doesn't miss it a bit. We met when we both worked at KGNS-TV in Laredo. Two of my sisters and their families live in Auston, and I have high school friends from West Virginia all over Texas. It's an easy transition for people born with a deer rifle in their hands. Texans and West Virginians have one more thing in common; an almost fanatical state loyalty. I was homesick for WV for 40 years before I got over it, but like my Texican wife, I'd never go back. First of all, after living here you will never want to put up with humidity again.

There are a lot of Texans in Las Vegas though. You can tell by the way they drive ─ like runaway freight trains.

Just curious...isn't a Texan, who moves to Las Vegas, then known as a Vegan, or a Nevadan?

I think I saw one once! He was stumblin' out of Stoney's...he might not have been a Gin-u-wine Texan but he had a real Stetson so...
