There used to be a good place at windmill and pecos in henderson, real chinese as they were real chinese, and they cooked homecooking, not really fast food.

The Chinese adaptations around the country are very interesting. The same with pizza and ribs. I lived in Rochester NY and Rome NY years ago, and I have never found a chicken wing like that anywhere else.

I learned to adapt and eat the best of each area and stop yearning for the food I used to eat. My husband is from Ireland, so there is no hope for him to get food he likes here.

I always turn people from chinese food to vietnamese food. The reason is the food is much more wholesome and healthy. I would encourage tring the Pho soup. Its pronounced "PH Uh" The "o" is like a "uh". Anyway, its inexpensive and really hits the spot! I recomend Pho 8 Siagon on spring mountain between Jones and Lindel (actually Spring Mountain/Westwind)

Also there is a strange little place in the parking lot of circuit city at jones and sahara. They have 'NY style egg rolls". Not spring rolls or veggiie rolls. The wonton wrapers are crunchie and they have the good cabbage, shrimp, port, etc.

pool i tend to korean because i have famiily and thai because i get home cooked food, yum

Yeah, i have to try that place on Sahara and Decatur.. I've seen it many times but never stopped and checked it out. I love Korean and Thai also! Back in San Jose, there was a really good Cambodian restaurant that was like a fusion of Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai. I would also recomend a place on Spring Mountan/Valley View called "Satay" Its Malaysian food, but a little more of a fusion with Thai/Indian food but they have very good food and its a nice comfortable place to eat.

China A go go is also a good cheap "fast food" place that has Panda prices, but the food is way better. They are in the NW, SW and Henderson.

Of course, Decatur, I have been gone for a year and my brain is foggy. I miss Las Vegas. I am living in Virginia Beach at the moment and the food selection is pretty boring.

Chopstix is right by my apartment and I walk there all the time to pick up our orders. I'd say it's pretty average. Not to say the food isn't delicious, it's just the same Chinese place you'll find everywhere. It's probably called #1 China, China Kitchen, Great Wall Chinese, Wok'N'Roll, or #1 Kitchen from where you came from but they're all the same. Even the menus are eerily similar. Great steamed dumplings, slightly larger than your average place.

Be sure to get the free crab rangon or teriyaki bowl free with a $20 purchase. It's on their menus if you forget your coupon.

Oh, I think someone mentioned looking for a good sushi place. Osaka off W. Sahara, by the statue of liberty. Very, very awesome food and if you're a night owl like me it's great because from 10-2am they have a cheap late night menu and my girlfriend and I haven't found a bad item yet. Kirin beer on tap! Always ensures she gets to be DD.

I recomend Sushi-Mon on W. Sahara also/Cimmaron. Very good food and they have all you can eat for $25 bucks.

LOL...I once read something in a magazine that said that Chinese take-out menus have an average of 4 things spelled incorrectly on them. Something to do while you're waiting for your order is grab the menu and look for them.

Default Chinese-Ok by the wife

Being born & raised in Brooklyn and only a 2 year resident of Las Vegas to date, I have yet to find any Chinese food here that would compare to what I used to get in Brooklyn. My wife on the other hand has had some good experience at the Cafe Siena at the Suncoast Casino they have a separate kitchen for their Chinese menu: see

Suncoast Hotel and Casino (http://www.suncoastcasino.com/dining/cafe-siena-chinese-menu.php - broken link)

She finds it :Acceptable
