i have many female friends who live alone in several different parts of the city (downtown area, UNLV area, near south side, northwest). they are very 'green' people who make a point of walking when they can. they also jog and bike...and OMG they do it alone! the primary reason for not jogging or biking here is that it is HOT in the summer, although you do get used to it and once the sun is down it ain't that bad. {disclaimer: there are definitely some places here that i don't feel comfortable walking late at night....you need to use common sense and not walk/jog/etc. in those places}
as for the prostitutes.....there is a higher concentration in certain areas here (just like any other city), but to say they are everywhere just supports my opening statement. and if you can't tell if some one is a hooker or not, how do you know they are, as you say, "everywhere"?

When did you figure out that you hated it and that it wasn't your kind of place? I would think one may know that before the 5th or 6th time and then just not go back. I do realize that some people have to go back regardless of whether they like it or not.
Just wondering. My sister hated it the first time she went and then tried it one more time and said--No more for her. (Until I move out there and then she might come out and visit. Or maybe not.

She will Kimba....when you move to Las Vegas, EVERY person you have even known or even brushed against will call you....
When yhey say "Hi, I'm coming to Las Vegas" you immediately respond with "GREAT, let me know where you're staying so we can get together for lunch" IF you don't, you be the landlord to you friends and shirtail relatives.

Yeah as soon as I got here my sister said she was moving out here and I was thinking "Damn I am trying to get away from all of you". How far do I need to move? Texas to Vegas is not enough? Hahhaa If some of my relatives show up I think I will wait until they are settled in and then pack up and move to Romania.
