in thar hills.. I did hear that house prices are starting to rise due to talk of gold being the reason. Anyone from Pahrump care to elaborate on this as to it being true or false or speculative?

Metal deposits are common all over Nevada.

I would think however this is a rumor we should spread. Maybe we can get a reality show going...

Become a Trump in Pahrump?

I've often wondered about some of the low lying washes when they are flowing after the rains.

Unless you're Barrack Gold, you need a local water supply to sluice the gold out of the rock/soil. Not so much of that in the empty desert.

True. Most of the gold that Barrick and Newmont take out of the ground is microscopic. It requires a very expensive process to turn into "tangible" gold. But as long as the price of gold is high, it will always be worth it.

You can hardly dig a hole in Nevada without hitting a little bit of gold. There are silver mines all over the state that produce enough gold to cover expenses too. Eldorado Canyon just south of Boulder City produced buzzillions of dollars in gold, and small private outfits are still mining there. But don't go messing with someone's claim, and don't go in any of the mines around here unless your insurance is paid up. Name a mineral and it's mined in Nevada.
