I couldn't have said it better myself. This place gets kudos for marketing itself as the best Thai in Vegas... unfortunately it leaves a trail of underwhelmed tourists.

..........and consistent with their food. I frequent a couple of branches in Spring Valley and one in Peccole Ranch.

After all of the raving reviews all over every foodie website, I tried Lotus of Siam. The first meal was the lunch buffet. It was pretty decent but no better than a dozen others.

My next two meals were off the menu and were below average compared to Thai places that I have been to in Chicago, LA, and Las Vegas.

After three OK meals, I am not heading back anytime soon.

I give them credit, they were one of the first restaurants to actively market on sites like Chowhound and Yelp.

The only great meal that I have had downtown was Binion's Steakhouse.

I second Binion's Steakhouse.. try Du-Par's for breakfast sometime. I'm a big guy, but 3 of their pancakes will do me in.

Du-par's is more overrated than Lotus of Siam IMO.
