Top of the parking garage at GVR would work, too.

One year I happened to be driving in from Cali during the 4th of July. I thought that was the most spectacular view, driving up through the midst of it all. I felt as if Vegas was welcoming me home. My opinion is to be on the periphery of the city somewhere in the desert with some camp chairs. Be smart and scope it out now. I haven't really put much thought into it but we have kids as will probably pull off of the 215 somewhere this year.

If we don't have a view from our room we plan to watch on top of the parking garage.

In Spring Valley, we watch the fireworks at the dirt lot adjacent to Desert Breeze Park on Durango. Beautiful view of the Strip from the Stratosphere to Mandalay Bay. For those who want to be closer without having to deal with hordes of people, go to the parking garage at McCarran International Airport. Pay a couple of dollars for parking and you will have a nice view of the fireworks.

Does anyone know what streets I could take to get in to MGM Las Vegas on New Year Eve after they close off streets
Coming from Far Hills and 214 Summerlin?

Those of us who live in Sunrise have that view -- and watching the fireworks from inside a warm house without the crowds and the potential for mayhem has it's advantages.
