I drove for 20 years, most in California and 5 years in Vegas. They are always hiring and I want to say the starting rate is up near 16 per hour but the district really is a mess these days. I got out in 07, when things at transportation started to go downhill, chaos with routing and not much help with disrespectful kids was the two biggest reasons I left.

ty for your help. I appreciate the links. I found out starting pay is in the $15 range. Couldn't find if health insurance is available. Would love to chat with a current school bus driver in Clark County if possible! If someone would be willing to do that, I would appreciate it thanks

PM me your number, I have several friends that work there, a couple of them are supervisors. I'll have one of them call you.
They will also make you go through training class, I think its 40 hours, before you can drive. That is policy, whether you have past experience or not.
Thats one thing I miss about California. We were tested and certified by the CHP to be a school bus driver and if you had that certificate, you could go to any district and hire right on without having to re train, as long as you were current on CHP and medical certificates.
