A couple I know is looking to relocate here with their Greyhound and cat. They want a rental to start, probably an apartment, but I think they would consider a house. Most apartments she's looked at online seem to have weight restrictions on dogs but theirs is over 65 pounds.

I asked her for their other wants and was told they'd like a safe, two bedroom (or more is ok), two bath apartment between $1000 - 1200 a month. Somewhere that is set up near nice areas to walk the dog.

Since we bought and didn't rent and haven't been here very long ourselves, I am not sure if her wish list is doable. Any suggestions of places that might work? Thanks.

I noticed that Camden Del Mar apartments doesn't have weight restrictions:
Quote:
We welcome your cats and dogs, up to two pets per apartment, with no weight limit. *Breed restrictions apply. We do not permit American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, any mix of the previous breeds, or any other dog or breed deemed aggressive. See management for pet approval and deposit and fee information.
They should of course contact them to verify a Greyhound would be acceptable. I believe the apartment was recommended at one point, though things can change.

We have friends who moved here with 3 pits. I think your best option would be to rent a house, not an apartment (besides, would you really want big dogs in an apartment?)

You have to do what you have to do sometimes. My friend is in a tight spot and the easy thing to do would be to take them to a shelter which is not an option and I respect him for that decision.

I looked them up and saw a few bad reviews, reports of break-ins, etc. However, thanks to your suggestion I found the Camden website and another of their properties in Henderson, Camden Summit, seemed to get pretty good reviews. I forwarded that to my friend and she likes the looks of it so far.

Any other suggestions?

there is a place right off grand canyon and flamingo, kind of behind the sears store there by JC Pennys. they have big signs out front that say "we love Big Dogs"... and it's a nice area close to good shopping.

Many Camden properties allow large dogs.
I had a good experience with their upkeep and management but that was quite a few years ago. Overall their properties are well maintained.
