I used Pods for one move and a Penske truck for another. The Pods are nice because you get up to 30 days from end to end. You can take your time packing and unpacking the container or even have them store the packed unit. It can be very flexible to fit your schedule. The Penske truck was cheaper but a massive pain in the rear. I used DAS to ship my motorcycle, they were recommended by the dealership where I bought it. It's probably good that you aren't considering a truck like Penske or Uhaul because the fuel milage is so bad that you won't save anywhere near what you expect.
