Found an old treatment plant off Lake Mead. What's the story behind it?

Looks like it's been repurposed as a movie set for the next Mad Max sequel. Wouldn't spend a lot of time wandering around there alone.

From property records, it looks like Clark County sold it or lost it to a bank in the early 70s. It's been passed around from person to person since then, finally landing in the hands of one Paul Dino Bertuccini, whose story appears to be far more interesting than the piece of land.

Paul Dino was a musician and songwriter. He got an audition with a small label and recorded three songs he'd done, but the label wanted a fourth. So, what was essentially an impromptu jam session, they recorded "Ginnie Bell," which hit the Top 40 in April 1961. He made an appearance on American Bandstand, and captured the heart of one of the more popular regular dancers. But the label never released a follow up, so Dino started performing with his band at the Fremont, with his wife as a backup singer. Once the lounge bookings dried up, they went into real estate.

Way Back Attack - Paul Dino

Me too! I have a huge fascination with old abandoned swimming pools. The older and creepier, the better.

Cool find. I like stuff like this too. Recently took a drive up 95 and found some abandoned buildings down a short dirt road. Thought it was cool/creepy.

That's interesting! Thanks for the info. I had no idea that place was there or about Paul Dino.
