Solar Savior, gentlemans name is Jamie, 702-813-4578. Based on pricing and install I can recommend. However, I've only had them for a few days.

Two suggestions.

Don't use them on north windows and think hard about east windows particularly if they have an overhang. Making a house dark does not actually save any energy.

Second if you are selling a house take most of the solar screens off. The impact of a house full of solar screens has got to be close to 5% on the sale of a house or delaying the sale 60 days. Bright houses sell.

Low utility bills sell a house fast. Going into a home for sale when it is 100 + and feeling cool is a big impression on the buyer.

Not true. Utility bills impact a few percent of home sales. Even fewer people know what is a good utility bill.

Dark houses sell badly. Simple as that. You should generally have the AC on in a house that is actively being shown. Upper 70s perhaps...but on.

What are you starting with, perforated metal stock, or do you by solid sheet stock and drill it (that seem tedious)?

There was a time when I wasn't mechanically inclined. I came to the realization that I would either have to man up and teach myself how to do home improvement projects, or bend over and take every reaming that every skeevy contractor in Las Vegas felt like giving me.

This is something that anyone can learn. If they choose not to, that's fine. But they're resigning themselves to a lifetime of being dependent on others for basic life skills. Anyone CAN do this. But not everyone will.

I start with hollow aluminum tubes, which I then cut with a miter saw. Metal corners are fitted inside the mitered joints to create a frame. Then the screen is installed with rubber spline and a spline roller. I can knock out an average-sized screen in about 15 minutes. A bigger project -- like a sliding glass door -- takes more like half an hour.

I did 30 windows at our house in a weekend. It has saved a considerable amount on our electric bill. The west-facing windows are cool to the touch any time of the day. Before we installed the screens, one of the west-facing windows got so hot, it spontaneously shattered. (I thought it was an upstairs intruder.)

When we have a wind storm and the screen comes off and gets damaged, will they replace for free

I've had mine up for years. And I live in the windiest part of Las Vegas. If a screen comes off and gets damaged, it wasn't installed correctly.

With some of the corner hardware available at the big box stores, you don't even need mitered corners. Just cut them straight on a 90 degree angle (a miter box might be helpful if you doubt your ability to cut straight).
