I've been in this city for 14 years and on outings twice this week I was exposed to marijuana fumes. This was a first for me. Is marijuana going to be the new tobacco? I don't care what other people do but I'm put off that I have to "inhale". Has anyone else noticed an increase in tokers?

I think they have always been here. Just more open about it now!

On a trip to Venice Beach last year I encountered this. People were openly smoking weed, the stench was everywhere. I had to walk through clouds of the smoke. Nobody said a thing. However, God forbid, you light a cigarette, the whole beach would descend on you. I know because I tried it, with an eCig which emits harmless, odorless water vapor!

People are such hypocrites.

Jury is still out on how harmless the eCigs are, but I agree with you on reigning in the pot smoking.

I could give two poops about you doing whatever you want to your body, but I don't want to be exposed to it at all. Especially should I end up in a situation like what you described where it seems like the continuous exposure could lead to a contact high and a possible failed whizz quiz.

It's like the open carry guys in Texas, you're just hurting your cause by getting in peoples faces.

I'd vote to legalize pot 99/100, as I really don't care what you do to your body, but seeing the disregard people have for the rights of others, I'm not so sure that legalization is the way to go.

FFS if you want to get high in public, eat some brownies (is it the same high? I couldn't say, but it's the right thing to do).

The elevators at Aliante Casino have reeked of pot the last two times I went there with my family, definitely a no smoking area, and is it really hard to wait to toke? If it keeps up there will be backlash and strict enforcement will be demanded.

I don't smoke either but I'm certainly not naive enough to think it's a new phenomenon. At best, some people are probably feeling a little more brazen with the way the perception of pot has been evolving and even being decriminalized in various places.

People can vape marijuana (THC) laden liquids. Some produce a smell and some don't. I don't know the difference but this seems to be the new fad for getting high because they don't burn anything and can "light" up anywhere.

I've seen these too! They don't smell much at all. The friend who had one said it was pretty similar to the real thing without having to hide out somewhere.

I don't know about lighting up with pot in a casino. That is a pretty distinctive smell, but I guess there isn't really anyone around to enforce against it? It's pretty much toxic soup already in most casinos.

It's just an odd feeling when the potsmoker looks at you like they are finally liberated. I don't know whether to give them a thumbs up or raise a brow. Lol. It amazes me there aren't more car accidents as well. I was thinking about that the other day. A few years back whilst on an elevator leaving a casino, a fellow elevator rider proceeded to his car with drink in hand. Yes he did start up and drive on. Our eyes met at the stop light. Wtf.

On the other hand, would a potsmoker be considered a safer driver than a drinker. The second pot smoker that I saw this week was leaving a CVS. Does anyone think Nevada will legalize it for recreational use??

Probably a matter of when... Not if.
