I will be leaving town on Southwest Airlines next month for one week.
Does anyone have a favorite shuttle?
I'm about 10 miles from the strip.
Is the parking at the airport safe?
I have a 7 am flight out and arrival at 6 pm
A week later
Thanks.

I haven't had any problems parking at the airport.

For longer trips I take a cab because the parking costs more than RT cab fare.

I parked at Best Western before. They charged a low fee for the parking and had a shuttle to the airport. Call them and ask if they still have that sort of deal going on.

You can get the WAX (Westcliff Airport Bus) at Durango and Charleston at 5AM. You can park at the Transfer Station at Durango and Westcliff with a 5:08 Departure. They get to the Terminal 1 at 6AM.

We use a Bell Town Car which is very reliable but costs about $50. We are however a good bit further than you. Still cheaper than parking unless you use the outlying lots. We never use a cab because it is more expensive and less reliable.

There is a person who provides airport service in Sun City. If you want the phone number let me know. I think it is likely illegal so I don't want to put it out in the open. According to the Sun Citiers very reliable.

Summerlin. Likely one in Anthem as well buy I am not well tied in there. There is generally a list of services and servers in each Sun City but it is often semi-private.

When I found out the expensive long term rates at airport,
I checked around. Best deal I found was to park at Super 8 motel on Koval.
They charge $5/day. Hoj take their shuttle go airport. When you return, you call them and they come pick you up.
Very pleasant experience.

If you are going to be gone a week either park at SSTT and take the bus from there, take the WAX as mentioned above or go park at MGM and take a taxi. The two bus options are $5 roundtrip and the MGM option is about $25 total in cab fare.

Not sure how realistic this idea is for every area of Las Vegas, but for awhile some neighbors near us (this is for locals primarily) were operating an airport co-op where they provided lifts for each other as needed. No cash changed hands, there were no waits for cabs, and it was reliable at any hour. All they did was keep each other's contact info and provide transport for each other to the airport and back. This was done from Summerlin, so was really worth it. It takes a little organizing between neighbors who know and trust each other. It can also double as house/pet sitting. Again, this option is not for visitors and tourists, but could work well in the right neighborhood.

If you're willing to park outside, IMHO easiest, cheapest & best option is the park & ride at the South Strip Terminal. The parking is free, shuttle bus comes frequently & is only a 5-10 minute trip to the airport at a cost of $2 each way. Hard to beat $4 round trip, whether looking at long-term parking or shuttle service. You don't have to wait at your house for a shuttle (only a few minutes for bus at the terminal) & you determine your own schedule.

I've done this several times now, always simple & pain-free. Helps if you have tinted windows & a sun shade for your front window as it's outdoor parking; that's about the downside, unless you're going to be gone longer than 7 days in which case you can make arrangements with security. The parking is free & is on the south side of the airport off Sunset.

Highly recommended, for OP or anyone else traveling out of town for a few days.
