This have been covered before on other threads. Do a search and it will pretty much answer all your questions. I actually have an IT background myself. I did Data/Voice integration and also did desktop support mac and pc. Vegas is not a tech kinda town, but there are jobs here that need techs. There will be stiff competition and the pay is not the greatest. You will just have to find your right fit, but it will not be easy unless you know someone. For the most part, this town is geared towards the service industry.

I moved here 11 years ago, I was a senior system analyst in NY making over 6 figures, Was recruited here for a project with a two year contract. Dropped my salary to 55,000 but housing was extremely cheap when I moved here so I took it. When my contract was over I was offered jobs for $14.00 an hour. I have been out of the IT industry now for 9 years because I could not afford to live here and work in IT.
