They sell them at some grocery stores here in the frozen food section. Don't taste much different than fresh if heated right. I do like the little chicken sandwiches that I've tried at the airport though. Has anyone been to the NY fav Shake Shack?

Shake Shack is good, but too damn expensive to go to regularly. Single burger is small, really need to get a double unless you just want a snack. Add in fries and a drink and you are paying close to $15, more if you get a shake instead. And the shake while good, is rather overpriced at $5 and is a tad bit smaller than the shakes at In N Out that cost $2. I suppose if the competition is restaurants on the Strip its not that expensive, but if they put one in the suburbs it wouldn't survive long.

So basically it's a tourist attraction. Got it. How is the meat prepared? Is is grilled? We want to try it but I'm not fighting traffic and new restaurant lines to overpay and feel gouged. Going to the strip these days is a PIA. Anyone know the off-peak time for locals. It also felt like we were in a different city. My has this town has grown.

I went on a Wednesday night and there was no hassle. NYNY probably the easiest casino to get in and out of the Strip with a convenient parking garage with easy access from and to the freeway. Do have to walk through the casino to get to Shake Shack though.

You can get the same thing at a much cheaper price at Quickee Burgers (SW corner of Rancho/Craig inside AM/PM). 2 sliders, shoestring fries and a can of coke for $3.49.

The meat is a frozen square patty. They slap that puppy on a bed of re-hydrated onions, and let the heat and steam cook the meat. The meat itself never really hits the grill. When they realized the meat wasn't cooking fast enough, they poked holed in the patty to make it cook faster. Then they steam the bun.

You can buy these in the supermarket if you can be bothered to push the start button on a microwave. From these lists it may even be a better option!

False. Grass fed beef, never frozen. The onions are picked fresh regionally (CA I think) and sent daily to White Castle. All the paddies are slow roasted while the buns are toasted golden. Fries are made from fresh potatoes and when you walk in there's a chalkboard that says where the potatoes were grown, which in Las Vegas will probably always be somewhere in Idaho.
