I have a window that is supposed to be a hermetically sealed window that is fogging up.

How hard to fix, or just replace?

thanks in advance!

I have had two dual paned windows repaired. The repair did not last long either time.

How is this possible considering how little humidity we have?

If the glass is tempered glass and you try to drill it like that video it will explode into 10 million pieces like a car window. If you dont know what you are doing. That's not a DIY project for the average home owner. What causes this problem is the silicone seal around the glass breaks loose from the glass and causes air to get in between the dual panes. With it being much cooler inside(during the summer) and hotter outside, thus the condensation build up.

I have two...one is a 6ft square window between the master bath and the atrium. And the problem is it does not appear to be moisture but some sort of internal coating or layer. No "wet" and it does not change with climate conditions. This is of course the big one. 6x6 windows are not cheap.

The other is a more conventional 2x3 or so. And it is moisture.

Going to have a glass shop in someplace soon.

What brand of window is it? I had this happen with a Milgard window several years ago, and they came out and replaced the window at no charge.

The manufacture and date of manufacture should be stamped on the metal band inside the glass.

I am out of town for 2 weeks so I can not check the vendor that made the window.
Thanks for the replies, I also saw somewhere a window repair vendor advertising $99 special.

Try to find someone who will make you a new sash to go into the existing frame.
