I like not gambling as a rule these days. I do thank Aliante casino for helping me quit gambling so much. If you don't play, you cannot lose.
Agreed, that place is only good for the restaurants. Everything said about the gambling is spot on which is why it is so dead nowadays!

Fireworks are horrible for casino return. Few people actually buy food, but lots of families and older folks slow up without even considering spending a dime on property. Only way it gets a return is when multiple properties pay together and lessen the burden. A single property miles from anyone else is just blowing money on them.

wow no firework, and sounds like they rigged the machine so people can't win ?!?!?!?

was there and went in from the entrance near the movie theater, the escalator was broken. 2 months later I went again and they still didn't fix it!

question how's the firework view from the strip? probably can see a lot since a lot of casinos do fireworks at the same time?

In addition to Aliante, Stations Casinos are skipping fireworks this year. Nothing going off tonight at Green Valley Ranch or Red Rock.

This is really irritating. No local fireworks tonight where we live. And not even at Red Rock. My husband said they did the weekend fireworks for the tourists benefit. Forget the people that live here. We pay the taxes and what do we get? Nothing. Cannot count the fireworks at that so called "fun" event at Nature Discovery park on Saturday. For the guy running for state Senate. Arsen T. Petroysan. So fun, with horrid rap so called music blaring for 3 hours while being stuck in a food line from hell that never moved for over 3 hours. Melting in the humidity. I only went because my husband wanted to go. I should have stayed home. At least I did get a lettuce/onion/tomato/dill pickle sandwich since I was the only one there that did not eat meat apparently. They did a very small fireworks show that they said "Would be better than any in the entire valley." I guess they meant it would be better than none, since our city doesn't give a **** about the locals, a lot like Stations casinos motto of "We hate locals." And it shows.
Can anyone tell I am a bit irked today? lol

I guess the only place is Henderson and Boulder City. Quite a drive just for some fireworks. Hope everyone has a good day today and you find some fireworks. I just want to go back to sleep.

As if you needed to be reminded of this. In a town where nothing gets done without the approval and/or help of the casinos, don't expect much for the locals. The casinos as a group grudgingly accept locals as a modest part of their business model. If they let locals have all they wanted and gave them great odds too, they'd be broke. If casinos spent billions for their properties and gave locals fantastic deals, locals would make it difficult to give the desired experience for the bigger spenders who justify the investments.

but the discovery park is pretty bad nowadays, slow on repair tennis court nets and stuff sucks to wait for others to finish or getting kicked out after 1 hour since there is only 1 court now. I have to drive like 15 min for some decent courts

I was there at Nature Discovery Park on Saturday. It wasn't "horrid rap so called music" only being played. The dj played a variety of music. Your dislike of rap gives you no right to disparage it. And it's very stupid to complain about a free event that YOU chose to attend. You got what you paid for, pure and simple.

Yes, it was horrid. If you call standing in line for the entire time there until it ended fun, then there is something wrong with your idea of fun. The music sucked really bad. They could have played some classic rock, country, armenian music, anything than the crap they played.
I hate rap and anything related to it. It's crap.

I found some great fireworks. I watched "A capitol fourth" on PBS. And Macys fourth celebration. Their fireworks go on forever. I do not think I will go out anymore in future years for fireworks. Getting tired of it all or maybe it's this state.
