There is a series of papers on the subject. It came out pretty clear that it is not visitors who off themselves. And again it is the rural areas that hit the high rates. Nye is worse than Clark for instance.

That is also in keeping with the US statistics. It is Wyoming and Alaska that are the highest suicide rates.

Nevada and Las Vegas are high as well though. Just not as high as some of the statistics published.

I didn't know this but I guess if you read this board and others enough, you'd probably get depressed and/or just watching local TV field reporters playing "journalist" will make you feel this way. Why do we get all the journalism school drop outs?

I could say the same thing about NYC. I bet people in Philly, LA, Miami, Chicago all say the same thing. And guess where they go to? Vegas, Miami, NYC!

I wonder if the report indicated any distinction of residents vs visitors. As a related example, my guess would be that a majority of the people who jump off the Golden Gate bridge and add to suicides in San Francisco statistics, are not people who live in San Francisco.
