I want to get my flu shot a little earlier this year, rather than wait until we return to the Bay Area.

In the past I've gotten my flu shot here at a Target pharmacy (Flamingo and S Grand Canyon), and Walgreen's (DI and Ft Apache). Does anyone know a better place to get a flu shot on the west side, where the wait is short, and there aren't a bunch of sick people standing around ready to give you some exotic infectious disease? Target was ok, and I'm willing to go back there, but Walgreen's pharmacy area always seems like visiting a third-world country.

The quickest, most pain-free, least expensive flu shot I ever received was at LAX. $10 and 2 minutes. Initial five boxes and sign. Best injection I ever received, too. We had an hour to connect for a flight to China anyway.

I know that doesn't help one bit -- but do keep your eye out for oddball places to get a shot. The grocery store pharmacy where I got my shot this year was awful -- Mr. Sadisto the Unfriendly Pharmacist with a sloooooooowwwwwwww injection. Felt every millimeter of it.

The casinos always give their employees free shots. But always so late in the season that by the time you get the shot, the flu is already going around -- no time to build up antibodies. What's the point?

Well Care McCarran Medical Clinic and Pharmacy 702-261-6710

Must've walked by this place dozens of times and never noticed it. Looks like you could get a shot here.

I got mine at work.

You can get a flu shot just about anywhere from the minute clinics, Costco, grocery store pharmacies, the vaccine center travel clinic.

The best "flu shot" I ever got over the years was eating right/lots of vegetables/fruit, sleeping well, keeping stress low, keeping active/exercising, and washing my hands often, sans flu shot. Haven't got the flu in decades.

Sam's Club. They offer both varieties - the traditional one that protects against 3 strains and another one that protects against 4.

Went to Smiths earlier and they had a sign for flu shots. So I guess you can get them almost anywhere these days.

I was invincible like you once too. All it took was one BAD flu and it made me a vaccine-user forever. I seriously thought I was going to die. Viruses don't give a damn about what you eat or how much you exercise. It happens to everybody.
