It was over $8 per 1000 gallons cost as compared to only $3.60 per 1000 gallons last summer in July & August.
There are administrative and maintenance costs in addition to the cost of water. Your bill can never go to zero even if you use no water.

My water bill is about the same as it was on Long Island($25-$30/m), but I had 20,000 sq ft lawn there and 200sqft lawn now. And even if I had to pay an extra $100 a year for water, I'll still take the $14K savings in real prop taxes and no state income tax. I'd say I'm still just a little ahead of the game.

My water bill is 20-30 a month. 4 people taking showers. I paid 30-40 in NC even when we only had 3 people.

Just refilled my pool after re-plaster so I used 17000 gallons in January and my bill was only $75 pretty cheap I thought.

I have a bill of $53 and only $3.27 is the variable amount based on how much water I used. The rest is all static administrative costs.

My bill in Southern California is $35 a month for water and sewer. Two people in a condo, we don't use the dishwasher or have anything outside to water. Our system gives us a certain allotment of gallons to use a month for $35, and anything used over that will be billed accordingly. We never go over our allowance, but we don't make any effort to.

I've never once had a water bill over $30 for a family of 4. It's usually $25-$27. It's up a few dollars since I moved here. High water bills usually mean the landscape isn't desert friendly.

Why don't you block out your private information and publish the bill? I have dealt with the water company a number of times and have an account even though I have a well and don't use public water. I use it for home inspections, maintaining landscaping and such. Never had a bill like yours though I would have the small use and administrative fees.

I think they should RAISE the price of water significantly to encourage people to conserve. There are far to many ignorant people here (in the Valley) who care about nothing other than themselves.

The Water District already does that. It is very cheap for basic water use. The price is tiered to punish those that use more than a typical family would use indoors.
