Im graduating from high school this year and going to UNLV as a dance major. I'm not very experienced but I learn fast, I'm good, and Im an awesome performer as in I dance to entertain and portray the emotion of a dance, my emotions are really good since originally I wanted to be an actress. Anyways, I was wondering how easy or how I could go about getting any kind of dancing job here. I was thinking about being a Siren at T.I. (if-y) or a Polynesian dancer/hostess at Kahunaville in one of those casinos.....I really want to make a career out of dancing

Kind of like saying you're good on the varsity baseball team and you want to pitch for The Dodgers. You've got to put in the time and work very hard as you work your way up...usually one step at a time. Plus, take a look at a few other job threads...the good jobs in LV are all about the "juice".

There are lots of ties to UNLV. It is not like pitching for the Dodgers. There are a few hundred such jobs around LV. Neighbors son is a Cirque dancer/acrobat.

They have cattle calls and auditions and all that.

It is also a reasonably hard profession. The dance takes its toll after some years. Many than turn to Real Estate...

You do what entertainers have always done for 100's of years...you go to a lot of auditions, and have a lot of disappointments, until one day they pick you and you're suddenly on cloud nine.

Check out all the entertainment publications for open calls for dancers. There used to be a local publication for local entertainers that listed all the shows looking for dancers, singers, musicians, etc. Use Google, go to news stands, especially on the strip, and ask other dancers. I don't know if the union still exists for local dancers but I imagine they are a part of bigger union now. Maybe IATSE or something. With a little more research you'll get there.

You could try dancing for one of the shows on the strip.

Otherwise, there's also Nevada Ballet Theatre.

Ever seen A Chorus Line? A Chorus Line - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That will be you. A Chorus Line

Look at it as paying dues. It will be a great experience.

Default Ladies & Gentlemen....Mr. Elton John....

Blue jean baby, L.V. lady, seamstress for the band.
Pretty eyed, pirate siren, you'll marry a music man.
Balleri-i-na, you must have seen her...dancing in the desert sand.
And now she's in me...always with me...tiny dancer in my hand.

Mexican geeks...out in the street.
Handing tickets out for bod.
Turning back...she just laughs...
LV boulevard is not that bad.

Piano man...he makes his stand
In the em-gee-em Grand.
Looking on she sings the songs
The words she knows, the tune she hums

its cattle calls and alot of very talented dancers. I still tend to agree with the varsity/dodgers comparison. You are from the varsity team and alot of the people at the cattle call have been playing at least in the farm league for the Dodgers.
