Wow. It is so smokey. And I don't mean Smokey Robinson.

I wish Nevada could sue California for causing all this air pollution. (Causing, as in California consciously engages in forest management -- or the lack thereof -- which increases the likelihood of wildfires that affect our air quality.)

Eh, it's a natural process too. Some of those pine trees require fire to reproduce.

I first noticed the smokey skies, yesterday.

Currently, the Strip looks like a hazy mess from my backyard. Hope that they sort this out in short time.

When I lived in New Mexico we would get the smoke from Arizona wildfires. Our northern NM wildfire smoke would blow up to Colorado. All part of living in the West...

Just to be clear, I know we can't sue. But I wish we could so California would have an incentive to manage its forests better.

Is California responsible for maintaining The Angeles NATIONAL Forest? I would think that would be the responsibility of the federal government.

I started a thread about this on the Colorado sub (titled "I can't freaking breathe").

I'm sure it's getting old to everybody! I mean, a haze now & then is one thing, but when you leave work & find your car is covered in ash??

I quit smoking years ago & I'm worried about more damage to my lungs.

Also, I exercise outside but anymore I feel like Charlie Brown with his baseball bat; looking gloomily out the window on a rainy day.

I went outside yesterday just before sunrise, and I could not see a single mountain.

That almost never happens. It's thick out there.

A co-worker of mine lives right near one of those blazes. She had pictures of it from her street. She got in trouble for missing a day of work because of it.

When I was in S.Cal a few months ago, I looked at all that dry brush and remarked to my companion, " what you guys need is some mountain goats." ( this was before the fires, and just a random thought. )
