Coming to Vegas to work. Good job and solid pay.
However, my credit's crap, I will have only a small amount ( very small) during the break of two weeks before I get my first check.
So for two weeks I'll be basically one step up from a vagrant. I also know no one in town.
So just short of me bathing in Lake Mead and sleeping in my car, how do I pull this off? I am open to any suggestions on how to stretch about $300 into food and shelter and fuel in Las Vegas for two weeks.
Free stuff to do would be appreciated also.
After that? I'll be fine. At least after the first check.
How would you do it?

Look for a short term Craigslist stay over place. Or get a tent and stay at a campground with shower. Or join a gym as place to shower and sleep in your car.

Couchsurfing might help for some of it. If the pay is real solid as you say the payday loan would work. Just be sure the pay is good enough to actually pay it off in a couple of weeks.

Cross post here. You are likely to find someone there who can give you a place to stay.

You haven't many options other than sleeping in the car. What's wrong with that? 300 dollars is next to nothing if you spend 5 dollars per meal for two weeks eating 3 times a day it totals 210 dollars. You would have 90 dollars left to spend on incidentals.

Will your employer allow you to park overnight at the job? Buy some gallon jugs of water and refill them at work every night to take a "shower" before work in the morning.

NOBODY will lend you a penny unless you can prove your current income.

the big travel centers/truck stops have private shower rooms you can rent for a few bucks, you don't need a cdl, they used to provide towels and soap, etc, but you will want to check on this to make sure it's still current info

don't know if they still do this, but walmart used to be pretty good about letting travelers park in their lot overnight for a short period, again you would want to verify this but you might be able to rotate locations and crash in your car

try to buy stuff from the grocery store rather than fast food as much as you can to conserve your $

good luck
