This has been beaten to death. There is Cox or Cox or Cox. If you live in one of a very few places you may be able to get CenturyLink Fiber. But that is 1% or so of Clark County.

If you cannot get Cox...which does happen... your choice is Hughes and long ping times. Or some wireless with limited bandwidth.

We've been with the Cox for 14 years. The cost of internet kept climbing. I live in the Spring Valley area.

I just checked the CenturyLink Internet website. I am not sure if that's a good deal??

If you can get fiber from Century Link go for it. That is very rare and virtually always new build. If they are offering you DSL don't go there. That is what they offer me...3 meg down.

Otherwise you are stuck with the rest of us. Actually the task assigned me for the next two weeks by the Admiral is to get the Cox bill down. The way we will approach that is to can the cable and phone we have with Cox. That is because there really is no other good internet provider.

It may be coming...likely by wireless. But a few years away still.

We dropped Cox cable many years ago and also dropped their internet this year. We are now with Century Link internet. Great service and for a lot less money. We have it in our neighborhood in Spring Valley. We also have Netflix, Hulu and digital antenna, no need for cable. Happier with the service on all.

Netflix also have more shows and movies from around the world not normally advertised, just type in Netflix codes online.

That's interesting. I contacted Century Link Internet. They said it is not available. I live in Spring Valley...

I had CenturyLink for years and it was slow but we lived with it. Then they sent me an email saying I could now get a higher speed in my neighborhood...a whopping 6mbps. We decided to try it. They could not get it to work. There wasn't a single day it didn't go down multiple times and after more than 10 technician visits, we gave up and called Cox.

I was paying @ $70 per month for 6mbps and with Cox I pay @$112 for 300mbps. I think the Cox service has gone down 2 or 3 times in the last 6 months. It's still too much to pay but it's speedy enough that I don't need cable at all.

That is unfortunate but if someday when they have their service in your area go for it. We have Century Link in our neighborhood in Spring Valley. Im not going back to that overpriced cable service! Happy with Century Link. Also go for Netflix and Hulu you will never run out of things to watch. I dont miss cable at all. Both Netflix and Hulu cost me 20 versus 80 for cable.

After 6 years with cox, they raised my internet to over 80.00 from 52.99. I called to see if they could offer me a better price, after a while of going back and forth, I decided they didn't need my business anymore. I'm gonna use the T-Mobile 4g unlimited plan for 40/month. It's not as good as cox was, but it'll work.
