Is there a way to find out what company is providing insurance coverage on a specific private property owned by someone other than yourself?

I'm willing to go through whatever legal means necessary.

I can't think of a reason why anyone would be obligated to reveal the terms or existance of a contract between private parties.

If you are planning on suing the owner your attorney can get that through discovery.

You may be able to get a CLUE report. They are normally available to insurers and owners. They will show any claims made and the insurance company involved. Certainly available in discovery if the matter should end up in court. Don't know if an attorney can gain access but I would not be surprised.

Another option might be the shotgun method if you are trying to file a claim with their insurance. Just start calling insurance companies as long as you know the owners names and say you want to file a claim against their policy. They will either say they don't insure them or if you hit paydirt they may say "we'll get back to you". Start with the major carriers.

Do you realize what a joke the civil court system would become if it were that easy to figure this information out? The bogus lawsuits would cripple the courts. People would claim someone's dog bit them or someone slipped and hurt themselves walking outside a home's sidewalk.
