Hi there,

We plane to visit Vegas during the middle of June. However, my wife considers about hot temperature at that time because we have one 8 yrs old boy and 4 yrs old girl, and we can't stay in hotel's casino all the time for sure.

Is it a good time to visit there in middle of June? Is there any places/activities we can go/do with two kids during the day time? Please advise, and thank you.

Vegas is not a place for kids, even less so when it is 115 degrees.

Not advisable, but since summer vacations aren't going to change there is always an influx of families at that time of year. Crazy people out walking with strollers on the Strip when its over 100 degrees always make me wonder if they didn't do their homework before planning this or they just don't care if they and their kids are uncomfortable.

Vegas in June is already averaging 100 F. It's a dry heat and the sun is relentless. There are outdoor activities off the strip but you're not gonna be able to be out there for long in that kind of heat especially with kids. If you do try to do them early mornings or early evenings.

June is bad, but it totally depends on the weather you are used to. It gets much worse after the middle of July when humidity jumps. It really, really unpleasant for any outside activity that doesn't involve the pool.

I can't think of too many places for kids, maybe Circus Circus and Springs Preserve (two totally unrelated places) and obviously Red Rock Canyon and Lake Mead

You could spend a day going to Mt. Charleston and having lunch at the Mt. Charleston lodge restaurant patio (family and dog friendly). It's only about 45 minutes to an hour from LV. The elevation gets high very quickly and therefore it is so much cooler than in the city. On the way there are picnic area, trails, and a camping area. Then if you drive back down to the "v" in the roads and head up towards the ski hill, there is a large overlook area with educational boards and beautiful views. You actually leave cactus and desert vegetation and enter those big pine trees.

The thing about June is not only are there 116 degree days but it's 100 degree nights as well. Thankfully there's AC in the cars and buildings and mist machines along the walking paths.

Rule #1: Hydrate.

Site seeing the "kid friendly" areas. I've done this with friend's kids when they'd come to visit.

On Strip: Circus Circus Adventure Dome and theme park inside, Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage, The Shark Reef and Aquarium at Mandalay Bay, The Bellagio Fountains and inside the Bellagio Botanical Gardens, The Wildlife Habitat at Flamingo Hotel, The Forum Shoppes at Caesars and their free every hour on the hour animatronic displays where the statues come alive to put on a show, The High Roller Ferris Wheel and the Link Promenade, The Eiffel Tower Observation deck, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum at the Venetian and Gondola Ride at The Venetian with cool interior shops along the canal, Big Apple Roller Coaster with games and arcade at NYNY, Hershey's chocolate world, M&M world, the rides at the Stratosphere, some exhibits at Luxor for the little older kids and the Blue Man Group show is there, Excalibur used to have a Renaissance show with knights and horses, there are some comedy and magic shows too, Fashion Show Mall with many shops, air conditioning and food (go there for happy hour cheap eats, ie Kona Grill), CSI:experience at MGM grand, there's also the monorails and the Las Vegas Sign.

Off Strip: Spring Nature Preserve, Red Rock Canyon, Symphony Park has the Children's Museum and Discovery center with interactive science themes, Lion Habitat, Hoover Dam Tour, Grand Canyon Tour, Hop on Hop Off double decker bus tours, Container Park with the tower playground in historic downtown las vegas (also the Neon Museum is near there), Freemont Street Experience is near there too with the canopy of lights that stretches blocks and the SlotZilla zipline*, the Aquarium with water slide inside the Golden Nugget, Wet n Wild (water play), Cowabunga Bay (water play), Town Square Children's Park and Playground for shopping (also another set of outlets nearby (indoor air conditioning)), Ethel M Chocolate Factory Tour, the pinball hall of fame with hundreds of machines where you can play them too, The Rio has some shops and an observation deck with VooDoo Zipline, The District at Green Valley Ranch for a splash pad and shopping and food with good happy hours. There's also Summerlin Downtown (new mall) and nearby there is the Vegas Golden Knights practice field for hockey the public can view from. On that side there's Red Rock Casino Hotel for shopping and movies, Tivioli Village for shopping and happy hour eats and a little kids play area, Bonnie Springs Ranch, Valley of Fire, Astronomy Star Parties with the Las Vegas Astronomical Society, Natural History Museum, Mob Museum, Atomic Museum, these new escape rooms somewhere, Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N., Dune buggy in the desert or four wheeling, kayaking on the Colorado river, the various raceways and the mini golf places for families, Silverton Aquarium, Mt Charleston.

Rule #2: Hydrate again.

*They're not kidding when they say Las Vegas isn't for kids. There are kid areas but it's adult themed everywhere. It's not like Disney land. Lots of drinking, smoking, gambling, bare skin, naughty impressions and general dysfunction on display in the Strip and Downtown Fremont area.

Go on Groupon and Living Social for deals and discounts, or google whatever you're interested in and the word "coupon" or sales and see what comes up. Sometimes I find discounts that way for things like hotel rooms, activities, food, ect.

I didn't proof read this. I'm just going off the top of my head.

You really don't want to visit with children that time of the year.
